Russell Bailey is a visionary filmmaker who is constantly taking the art of visual storytelling to the next level. His unique voice and perspective bring a whole new dimension to the industry.
Act I – DIRECTING
Russell has recently turned his focus towards directing. With a mind for visual story telling, and the experience of being an actor himself, this has been a natural transition.Most recently, Russell directed the original stage play “Waiting for Jamie,” written by Alex Riad, performed at the Morgan Opera House in Aurora, NY.Russell was recently selected as a director for Howcast.com’s Emerging Filmaker Program.Russell is currently developing multiple scripts that he will direct himself, and are slated to begin filming in 2010.
Act II – WRITING
Russell has been a professional writer since 2005. He has a background in journalism, writing as a columnist for The Auburn Citizen, in New York, as well as writing editorials for various websites. His love for film brought him to screenwriting. Russell is constantly asked to develop spec scripts, and helps link other writers with producers. Russell has worked as a private consultant for Script P.I.M.P., where he managed their internship program, worked with the company’s top writers, and managed the business’s professional relationships. Additionally, he has worked as a developer for Abbot Management in L.A. Russell currently assists in development at Benderspink.
Act III – ACTING
Russell has been acting since the age of fourteen. He has performed in the productions of “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Les Miserables,” and “JT and the Pirates”. Russell has had academic training in both vocal performance and improvisational theater. Russell is also trained in stage combat, horsemanship, and outdoor theater.Russell’s screen acting is extensive including leads in several student and independent films including “Greetings from Pittsburgh.” Russell was recently featured in “How I Met Your Mother,” “Flashforward,” “The Sarah Silverman Show,” “Warrior,” and “Iron Man II”
